How do I even begin with this wedding? Emily and Ryan’s wedding at the Ballroom at the Ben was such a celebration so full of joy and love. The highlight? Well there are too many BUT if I HAD to pick one, it would be Ryan’s family band’s performance during the reception! Yes, let me repeat that Ryan and his family are all talented musicians and singers. Not only did Ryan’s brother sing their first dance song, but the song that Ryan danced to with his mother, was actually a recording she made. Cue all of the tears and personal touches.

How they Met & The Proposal

Emily’s coworkers were determined to set her up with a good guy. Ryan so happened to come into her office one day and her coworkers unanimously agreed that he was cute and made sure to ask him all of the important dating questions. When he came back to for a pickup a few days later, they were ready to set him up with Emily. A year and a half ago Ryan and Emily were celebrating his Match Day. He had a personalized letter that Emily opened, which she thought was his match letter. When she looked up from reading, he was down on one knee!!

I always say that August is a great month to get married, it COULD be because I got married in August, but really every August wedding I’ve photographed has been just perfect. Okay, I could probably say that about every wedding but I REALLY mean it about this Ballroom at the Ben wedding. I just love seeing our couples interact on their wedding day. Ryan puts Emily at such ease and that was so prevalent during their portraits. During their ceremony, they were greeted by so many cheers that they shared not only their first kiss, but TWO MORE kisses as everyone applauded them becoming husband and wife. :) The fun these two have together is so obvious in ALL of their portraits, but even MORE so as they broke it down on the dance floor.
