Rainy Barn Appetite Wedding in Lewisburg, PA

This past weekend we ventured up to Lewisburg, PA for a beautiful barn wedding (despite the rain!). They always say that rain is good luck on your wedding day, and I really like to think that’s true for weddings like this because it rained ALL DAY. I had never been to Barn Appetite in Lewisburg, but it is one of the nicest barn venues in Pennsylvania. Being from Gettysburg, we have no shortage of barns there (many MUCH smellier :P), so I love a good rustic venue :)

How They Met & The Proposal

Anne and Sean met through an online dating site, where she originally skipped over Sean’s profile :P She figured that him living 3 hours away was too far to try to start anything serious so it wasn’t until he decided to reach out to her that they actually connected! They got to know each other virtually and eventually met up for a picnic for which Anne made all sorts of goodies. A little over a year ago Sean planned the perfect proposal while they were visiting Philadelphia for a long weekend. Anne had no idea that the proposal was in the works and threw so many curveballs in Sean’s plan. They were walking around Temple University’s campus and ended up in the Founders Garden where Anne’s sister and brother-in-law were waiting. As Anne started to get suspicious and question what was happening, she turned around to find Sean on one knee!

Their Barn Appetite Wedding

This weekend’s forecast definitely kept us on our toes! One minute it was supposed to rain and the next minute it was all clear for the evening. When it came down to it, it ended up raining most of the day, but on the bright side, the temperature was absolutely perfect!

I loved how cohesive Anne planned all of her details. The light pink bridesmaids dresses paired perfectly with the loose floral bouquets. I’m a lover of flowers but a loose floral bouquet might just be my favorite! When Anne was asked if she preferred getting married in the rain, or switching to the rain plan, she had no hesitation with her decision of sticking it out in the rain! I love brides who know exactly what they want for their perfect day, and Anne knew she had dreamt of that outdoor ceremony. Everyone opened their umbrellas while the string ensemble played and Anne walked down the aisle to her forever. They wrote their own vows and shared their hopes and dreams between rain drops and shared their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. in the rain. It was a beautiful ceremony at Barn Appetite and the perfect temperature for an outdoor barn reception too!
