In looking at the forecast last weekend, I knew it would be rainy for this Hershey Country Club Wedding. Instead of getting worried about locations and how the day would unfold, I was so excited! I love the challenges that come from unexpected weather conditions and there’s just something about the rain that makes everything feel so much more romantic.
How they Met & The Proposal
Katie and Matt met in college where she went to Penn State and he went to Pitt. It was by chance that Katie was friends with Matt’s high school friends and met while he was visiting! About a year ago, they were walking their pup around Rittenhouse Square (where we also did their engagement session!). In a quite corner of Rittenhouse, Matt got down on one knee and asked Katie to be his wife!
Their Rainy Hershey Country Club Wedding
Katie and Matt planned a beautiful wedding ceremony in a gorgeous church just in case the weather wasn’t in their favor and MAN was it a beautiful place. The marble altar mixed with the beautiful stone columns out front created the perfect (and dry!) setting for Katie and Matt to see each other for the first time and get married! We started our day at the Hershey Lodge where Katie got ready. I loved how sparkly her shoes were, and then when we brought the bouquet out and I saw it had an artichoke in it, I had all the “heart” eyes! It rained most of the afternoon, but when we arrived at the Hershey Country Club, this entire wedding party braved the constant mist and had just enough fun in the rain! The reception room smelled like eucalyptus and had green everywhere, it was a dream :)
