This past weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating the marriage of Amy and Matt at The Farmhouse Delaware. Its always the most fun to see the excitement and the nerves at the start of a wedding day. These two people are so ready to commit their lives to one another Amy and Matt were just so ready to see each other and start their wedding day together. I love when couples choose to stray from the popular color palette and choose colors that really reflect their likes and interests. That is exactly what Amy and Matt did with their Sangria and Navy wedding. The florals from The Twisted Vine were the perfect combination with the Sangria bridesmaids dresses.
HOW THEY MET & THE PROPOSAL
In a world where nearly everything is online, it is only fitting that Amy and Matt met online! They hit it off on their first date, when they met up to watch an Eagles game. The only catch is that Matt wasn’t an Eagles fan! He is originally from California and is a 49ers fan, BUT in an effort to impress Amy, he rooted for the Eagles that first night together :) Last winter, they continued a tradition they’ve had for a few years and went to New York City for the holidays. They’ve done this for 3 years, so Amy wasn’t taken by surprise by the fun trip! Matt insisted that they walk through Central Park even though the beautiful snow had turned into a dreary rain. As they trudged through the slush, snow and rain, Amy started to get suspicious. Matt kept pausing and having the two of them just stop to look around. They walked to a new spot in the park (none of which was plowed) and ended up at Bow Bridge. As they got to the middle of the bridge Amy noticed some weird woman pointing her phone at them, to turn around and realize Matt was on one knee!! They took a few snowy (and engaged!) pictures and also a video from the random lady before enjoying their first night engaged in the city.
THEIR FARMHOUSE DELAWARE WEDDING
We arrived at The Farmhouse to warm but beautiful day and before we could get Amy dressed, we had to get her nephew (and cutest ring bearer!) dressed. They were probably the cutest flower girl and ring bearer if we’ve had all year. Amy’s dress from the Bridal Garden was definitely one to remember! The lace was so beautiful and MAN that train was just perfect. It didn’t take her long to get in her dress because she wanted to see her almost husband! Once these two saw each other, all their nerves disappeared. They were so ready to get married and just enjoy the day together. Their friends and family quickly arrived in for the ceremony to get these two MARRIED! One of the best parts about being the photographer for so many of these couples is the front row seat I get to see and capture during the ceremony. Even though Matt got to see his bride and love on her before their ceremony, he still got emotional as he saw her walking down the aisle towards him. It is SUCH an honor to capture moments like these for couples for them to cherish for years to come. I loved spending the day with Amy and Matt at The Farmhouse Delaware and couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect day!
