When anyone gets married in July you have to assume it is going to be a warm day, and this July wedding was definitely that! We visited the Lake House Inn to celebrate with Jackie and CJ and although it was warm, it was an absolutely beautiful day. Jackie was one of the most relaxed brides I think I’ve ever had and CJ is one of the nicest grooms… obviously that makes for one awesome couple!!
How they met and the proposal
Jackie and CJ met during college at RPI where they were friends first and just fell into dating :) These two were vacationing over Christmas in Aruba where they had never been before. CJ was nervous because he knew he was going to pop the question but didn’t have a specific plan as to where and when. On Christmas Eve they took a stroll after dinner and found some chairs to enjoy the evening. As CJ was preparing to pop the question in the dark, their family found them so he postponed his plan. Later that evening he took her to the pier (where there was more light!) and asked her to marry him! He thought he had totally surprised her, but in reality she knew the whole time he was going to ask her! :P
We met up last November at the beach for their engagement session, and I just love how you can feel the comfort and love between these two.
Their Lake House Inn Wedding
I have so many great things to say about this wedding and I’m just not sure how to articulate them! I mentioned it before and I’ll mention it again, Jackie and CJ are some of the best human beings and the love from their family and friends really showed that. I arrived to the Lake House Inn before either of these two, and when that happens, USUALLY the bride and groom arrive in a flurry of panic. Not these two!! They arrived and were so relaxed (with a few nerves) but ultimately so relaxed that I just knew it was going to be a great day. Jackie and CJ chose to just have one bridesmaid and one groomsman (their siblings) and it was so different from the larger bridal parties! I love the simple (and beautiful!) white bouquet that Jackie chose for herself and the gold dress for her sister with the blush flowers. Their colors were black, white and gold and I loved the simplicity throughout each aspect of the day. This was such a great crew and such a fun celebration!
