Oh friends, its been raining or overcast for nearly two weeks straight and I didn’t realize how much I needed some sun! Let me tell you, this engagement session at the Manor at Makefield Highlands didn’t disappoint! Not only was the sunshine super welcome, but it made for an absolutely STUNNING engagement session. And you can’t forget how beautiful the Manor at Makefield Highlands is! Seriously, so perfect!
How They Met
Alyssa and Shawn grew up in New York and actually met in elementary school where they were a grade apart! Their parents were friends through most of their lives, but it wasn’t until about 5 years ago at a Christmas party that they reconnected. They went snowmobiling that winter while they were on break and when they went back to school, they started visiting each other in college.
The Proposal
After four years of dating, Shawn took Alyssa to the spot where one day they’ll build their dream home. Just imagine it… you’re in the middle of a field, on the top of a hill, overlooking a mountain ridge and farmland and the love of your life asks you to be his forever. Probably the most picturesque thing of all time and that is just where Alyssa said YES to her forever with Shawn!
Their Engagement at Manor at Makefield Highlands
Well I’ve already boasted how perfect the Manor at Makefield Highlands in Yardley is… and I probably won’t stop :P I met up with Alyssa and Shawn at the Manor when the sun broke through the clouds for the first time that day. We had been watching the weather all week and the rain that was supposed to come had disappeared from the forecast. The Manor is situated on the Makefield Highlands Golf Course, but we didn’t wander too far to have to watch out for the golf balls :P There is an adorable little barn across from the Manor and a beautiful little pond. Alyssa and Shawn were so much fun to hang out with and I loved hearing about how they met and a little snippet of their love story. Their wedding is going to be so fun next year!
