If there was one word that I had to pick to describe this wedding, it would be JOY. Laura, her mom AND her brother are filled to the brim with with joy, pure enthusiastic joy and MAN is it contagious. Their excitement for the day shows through the images and I can’t wait for you to experience it! We started at Hotel Monaco and wandered around Old City and Second Bank for their wedding portraits before heading to Osteria for a beautiful greenhouse ceremony!
How they met and the Proposal
Just before Christmas a few years ago, Laura and Colin met through a mutual friend. They quickly decided to go on a first date shortly thereafter at the Rose Tattoo Cafe. It was so cold that night that Laura almost cancelled the date!! When it was time for them to take the next big step, Colin planned a weekend away for them to hike and enjoy the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They went for a drive on the famous Skyline Drive, which ended up being PACKED. Eventually Colin found a parking lot and they followed a trail for a hike. After a little while Laura suggested they turn around because it was cold and not the most scenic. That was the moment Colin decided to make it a little more exciting of a hike and got down on one knee! Laura didn’t even let him finish before she had the ring on her finger. Since they were in the mountains, they didn’t have any cell reception and were able to truly just soak it all in as they visited a few wineries.
Their Osteria Philadelphia Wedding
Laura had such a simple, modern style, that was also classic and I loved every second of it. From the black and white invitations to the gorgeous (and colorful) floral bouquet, this wedding was so beautiful! I love when couples choose a different type of venue and Osteria was just that! Laura was really worried about having a rain plan that looked just as good as her Plan A, so when she found Osteria, she knew it was the perfect place for her wedding rain or shine! Luckily we had the most beautiful SUNNY day to match the love of Laura and Colin! On the morning of the wedding Laura’s Aunt and Mom surprised her with “something old, new borrowed and blue” which was so special because it was perfume from Europe, pictures of her grandfather, a garter, sparkly new keds :) Laura’s mom was so on top of everything, she couldn’t resist watching their first look and (with Laura’s approval! :P) coming along to play paparazzi during portraits! She was just so so excited to experience the entire day with Laura and Colin and we LOVED having her!
