Where do I start? This wedding day was so special in every way! I knew it was going to be a good one when I met Katie and Adam during their engagement session AND they braved the rain for that! We kept saying we got the rain out of the way during their engagement session because the weather on their wedding day was SO perfect!

How they met & The Proposal

This love story started quite a few years ago… when Katie and Adam were 5 years old!! They’ve known each other their ENTIRE lives and were close friends for years before dating. In high school they dated for 3 years before deciding to part ways for college. Well, fate had a way of bringing them back together… :) The Christmas after they had both graduated college, they reconnected and it was like no time had passed! A few years later and another Christmas season, they had planned to go to New York City as their presents to each other. They went to a Broadway show on Saturday afternoon and ended up back at their hotel after. Adam wanted to check out the rooftop view over drinks. Since it was such a beautiful view he suggested they take a picture together and set up the camera. When he returned, he was shaking and Katie immediately knew what was happening. Instead of setting up the camera to take a picture, Adam recorded video of the entire proposal!!

Their Star Barn Wedding

With a venue like the Star Barn, there are so many nooks that are PERFECT for photos. We decided that the perfect place for their first look would be at the base of the Star Barn. The one thing I didn’t realize is how excited Adam was to see his bride! Just the two minutes I left him waiting for her to join him was enough to bring him to tears when he saw Katie. It might go down as one of my favorite first looks because it was just so sweet. They were both in awe at the fact that their wedding day was FINALLY here, and were LOVING every second.

During the ceremony Adam was once again brought to tears as Katie walked down the aisle and at the end he dipped her into the best first kiss to officially start their marriage! Just before the reception started the DJ came up to me to make sure I knew about the surprise Adam had for Katie. Throughout the toasts I learned that Adam is a huge fan of karaoke and doing anything to get a laugh so his surprise for Katie had a little more context. After his welcome speech to the guests he went right into serenading Katie in front of everyone!! Needless to say there were many laughs, and tons of smiles :) However, it doesn’t stop there! Right before we headed out for the night Footloose came on and all of the groomsmen promptly jumped in and started dancing in unison!

Did I mention it was a great day??
